macOS Lucid Finder Extension Missing

  • Updated

Overview

We have received reports that the Lucid Finder Extension options are missing after updating to macOS Sequoia (15.x). It appears that the FinderSync Extensions are no longer manageable from the macOS UI.

Previously they were located at System Settings > Privacy & Security > Extensions > Added Extensions. It appears some extension settings have moved to System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions. However, the Added Extensions are no longer there.

LucidLink are working on a remediation to ensure the Finder Extension loads automatically with every  Filespace mount.

Symptoms

The Lucid Copy Link and Pin options are no longer available in the macOS Finder context menu and the LucidFinderExt process is no longer running.

Since you can no longer manage the FinderSync Extensions from the macOS user interface you must Add and Enable the Lucid Finder Extension using command-line.

  1. Open the Terminal app
  2. Run the following commands, one at a time:
    1. pluginkit -a "/Applications/Lucid.app/Contents/PlugIns/LucidFinderExt.appex"
      pluginkit -e "use" -i "com.lucidlink.LucidFinderExt"
  3. Open Finder, browse to your Filespace, and check that the Copy Link and Pin now appear
