Symptoms
When you open the context menu for any file/folder in a Lucid filespace, the "Copy Link" or "Pin" options are missing. This can be caused by the Finder Extension being disabled by a third-party application.
The expected behaviour is that the options are visible and clickable (as shown below).
macOS 14 and older
Troubleshooting
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Extensions > Added Extensions and look for Lucid. There should be a checkmark on the Lucid Finder Extension. Ensure it is checked.
- Confirm that the Copy Link and Pin options are now present when you open the file/folder context menu on your LucidLink filespace.
macOS 15
Overview
We have received reports that the Lucid Finder Extension options are missing after updating to macOS Sequoia (15.x). It appears that the FinderSync Extensions were no longer manageable from the macOS UI between versions 15.0 and 15.3.1.
In Sonoma they were located at System Settings > Privacy & Security > Extensions > Added Extensions.
In Sequoia (15.3+), the extensions are in System settings > General > Login items & Extensions> File providers.
Troubleshooting
If you are using macOS Sequoia 15.0-15.2, you cannot manage the FinderSync Extensions from the macOS user interface you must Add and Enable the Lucid Finder Extension using command-line. Here is how:
- Open the Terminal app
- Run the following commands, one at a time, for LucidLink Classic:
pluginkit -a "/Applications/Lucid.app/Contents/PlugIns/LucidFinderExt.appex"
pluginkit -e "use" -i "com.lucidlink.LucidFinderExt" - Run the following commands, one at a time, for New LucidLink:
pluginkit -a "/Applications/LucidLink.app/Contents/PlugIns/LucidFinderExt.appex"
pluginkit -e "use" -i "com.lucidlink.finder" - Confirm that the Copy Link and Pin options are now present when you open the file/folder context menu on your LucidLink filespace:
