Generate a backup code

Due to LucidLink’s zero-knowledge security model, we cannot reset your password for you. To regain access if you’ve forgotten your password, you must use a backup code that you previously generated yourself. This article explains how to generate a backup code.

Generate backup code

  1. From the web or desktop app, click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the page.
  2. Select My account from the menu.
  3. Click on Generate backup code.
  4. Copy or download the generated backup code.
  5. After securely storing your backup code, check the box to confirm.
  6. When you're done, click Save

Make sure to store your backup code in a secure location, as you won't be able to retrieve it once it's saved.
