File Streaming
The LucidLink app leverages the same advanced streaming technology as all LucidLink desktop products, enabling seamless data streaming to third-party apps.
When a user selects a file, the app displays a list of compatible third-party applications for opening it. If the chosen app supports streaming, the data will be delivered in blocks. Otherwise, the file may need to be fully downloaded before it can be accessed by the third-party application.
File Download
The context menu next to each file provides an option to download the entire file to the device's Files app.
File Upload
Files can be uploaded from a mobile device by tapping the plus (+) button in the bottom-right corner of the main app screen. Select the desired files from the device's Files app, and the upload will start automatically once selected. A notification will appear to display upload progress, with options to pause or cancel the upload as needed.
What happens in the background
The LucidLink app first loads the selected file into its cache before beginning the upload to cloud storage. The status bar notification reflects the file's loading progress into the cache, not the final upload to the cloud. In rare cases, such as with larger files or weak internet connections, a file may remain partially uploaded in the cache. However, there's no need to worry—once the filespace reconnects, the upload will resume in the background until the file is fully uploaded.
It’s important to note that force-stopping the app, especially during uploads, can result in cache corruption and may interrupt the successful upload of the file to the cloud. To ensure proper upload completion, avoid force-stopping the app, even after the upload status notification appears to be finished.
File Share
The Android LucidLink app allows users to share files directly to messaging apps, social media platforms, and more.
The app is force-stopped only when the option is selected from the System App Info screen.
