How to take part in the LucidLink iOS Community Preview

  • Updated

What to test

  • Browse your LucidLink workspaces and filespaces directly on your mobile device.
  • Play different types of video and audio files in-app, including in a floating window view.
  • Preview other file formats in-app (images, documents, etc.)
  • Share files to open with other apps and to save to your phone.
  • Evaluate the app experience in differing internet bandwidths.

How to start

  1. Begin by creating a new LucidLink 3.0 account by registering here. Or, use your existing LucidLink 3.0 account if you have such an account already. The LucidLink app for iOS is only supported with the new LucidLink (version 3.0), and will not work with LucidLink Classic (version 2.9 or older). At present, creating a new 3.0 account can only be done via the web app, and cannot yet be done via the iOS app.
  2. From your mobile device, click on this link to install Apple's TestFlight app, which is required for this Community Preview (once the LucidLink app for iOS is released, the TestFlight app is no longer needed). Once TestFlight is installed on your iOS device, you are now ready to install the LucidLink app.
  3. Once the LucidLink app for iOS is installed, log into the app using the same user credentials you created when you signed up for LucidLink 3.0, and test the main use cases described in the section above.
  4. Got a question? Found an issue? Have some tips on what to improve? Choose one of the options below to let us know how your experience was:
    • Provide feedback by following this link
    • Or, send an email to our Product team at product@lucidlink.com
    • Or, directly give feedback within the TestFlight app

Tip: Test and record your findings by either taking screenshots or recording your screen.  And if you have the option to record your clicks, please do so to help represent your experience when reporting any feedback.

Additional Notes

  1. The LucidLink apps for Android and iOS can connect to only one filespace at a time. If you already have one filespace connected, connecting to an additional filespace will disconnect the previous one.
  2. For this community preview, the LucidLink app for iOS will only support read-only access to your filespace. The ability to upload to your filespace from the iOS app will come in a future release.

Thank you so much for helping us get early feedback from the LucidLink Community!
