Adding a filespace to your Finder Favorites

  • Updated

Overview

This guide will walk you through the process of manually adding a LucidLink filespace mount point to the Favorites section of your Finder sidebar on macOS 15.6 and later. This is necessary because the automatic addition of the filespace to favorites is no longer supported on these versions of macOS.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open the LucidLink application.
  2. Navigate to the filespace you wish to add to your Favorites.
  3. Click the "Open filespace" button. This will open the filespace in a Finder window on your Mac.
  4. With Finder open, use the macOS top menu bar and choose "Go > Computer".
    1. Or press CMD + SHIFT + C to go directly to the "Computer" view.
  5. Click and drag the filespace mount point to the "Favorites" section in the Finder sidebar, located above the "Locations" and "iCloud" sections.
  6. Release the mouse button once you see a horizontal blue line appear where you want to drop it. This will create a shortcut to your filespace, allowing you to access it easily from the Finder sidebar.
