Service Accounts
We're excited to announce the launch of Service Accounts, a new feature designed to improve how you manage programmatic access to our platform's API. Key functionalities are:
- Dedicated Programmatic Access: Service Accounts allow external applications and scripts to interact with our API using a secret key that is not tied to an individual user's account. This significantly enhances security and manageability.
- Workspace-Level Management: Workspace Administrators can now easily create, view, and delete Service Accounts within the application UI.
- Immediate Full Access: All Service Accounts are created with full workspace administrator permissions for maximum integration capabilities.
- Secure Credential Generation: A unique API credential is securely generated upon creation, which immediately becomes active. Deleting the Service Account or the Service Key instantly revokes this access.
-
Service Accounts are available exclusively to our Business and Enterprise tier customers.

Fast Share: A Quicker Way to Manage Folder Access
We're excited to announce the launch of a new ‘Share’ context menu option, designed to save you time and clicks! Admins and owners can now grant folder permissions to existing workspace members in seconds, directly from the Web client’s filespace browser.
What's New?
Share Directly from the Context Menu: Simply right-click on any folder in the Web client and select the new "Share" option.
Instant Permissions: A clean, simple modal allows you to search for and select users or groups, assign "Can edit" or "Can view" permissions, and grant access instantly.
One-Click Link Sharing: After setting permissions, you can immediately copy a direct link to the folder to send to your collaborators.
This streamlined workflow makes collaboration smoother and faster.
Please Note: The Fast Share feature is currently available for folders on our Web platform.
Pinned Items UI
This release introduces the new Pinned Items UI, a dedicated interface designed to give you comprehensive visibility and control over your local cache and pinned files. Pinning can speed up your work by preemptively loading entire files into your cache. Learn more about pinning here. The new functionalities include:
- New Dashboard View: A new, centralized section in the filespace dashboard of the desktop app provides more detail on the status of your filespace including remaining upload, remaining pinning, and total pinned storage.
-
Pinning Status & Progress: You can now see a full list of all pinned files and folders as well as sort by size, name, and status.
- Each item displays its current status, such as "Pinning" or "Pinned".
- For items currently in the process of being pinned, a loading icon shows the pinning progress in real-time.
- Hover over an item in the list to see its full path in the directory structure.
- Storage Visibility: The UI prominently displays the total size of your currently pinned content. This helps you understand and manage storage consumption.
-
Management Controls:
- Easily unpin items directly from the list.
- Use the "Unpin all" action to clear all pinned items at once.
- A clear "Drop cache" button allows you to clear the entire local cache (except pinned files and any data remaining to be uploaded).
- Easily jump to your filespace settings to adjust your cache size if needed with the “Manage cache size” link
Where to Find It
You can find the new Pinning UI in the dashboard of your filespaces (by clicking any filespace from your workspace dashboard or sidebar), or by navigating to “Pinned Files” in the dropdown menu for your filespace in the sidebar.
Filespace Admins
We are introducing the Filespace Admin role to empower large enterprise organizations with granular administrative control over individual filespaces. This feature is critical for clients who manage numerous filespaces and lots of users. Some of the key capabilities are:
- Filespace Management: Manage all permissions, filespace settings, and snapshot schedules for assigned filespace(s).
- User Invitation: Invite new users to the platform, granting them access only to the filespace(s) the Filespace Admin manages.
- Existing User Access: Grant or revoke access for existing workspace members to a filespace they manage.
-
Key Actions for Workspace Owners/Admins: Assign the “Filespace Admin” role to existing member(s) and select the specific filespace(s) they will manage.
File Preview in Web Client
- Preview Files: View videos, audio, images, and documents directly in your browser without downloading.
- Preview Indicator: Look for the special eye icon next to supported files. Click the file to open the viewer.
-
Supported Formats Include:
- Video: MP4 (H.264/AAC), WebM, Ogg.
