Release notes for build #7564, release Nov 26 2025

  • Updated
Build 3.3.7564

Introducing Bandwidth Management for Filespaces

You can now set maximum upload and download speed limits for your filespaces. This gives you granular control over network usage, helping to prevent network saturation and ensure bandwidth remains available for other critical applications.

  • Where to find it: Filespace Settings
  • How it works: Apply limits globally (for all users) or configure them locally.
  • Platforms: Available in both the Web and Desktop applications.

Enhanced Performance and Scalability

This release includes significant performance upgrades to improve speed for individual users and reliability for large teams.

  • Improved Cache Read Performance: We have optimized how data is read from the local cache on macOS, Windows, and Linux. In some cases, reading data from the cache is now significantly faster. Additionally, the default size of the in-memory data cache has been increased from 64MiB to 256MiB on the desktop clients.
  • Enhanced Service Scalability: We have introduced changes in some of our key services to handle a much higher volume of parallel connections and heavier loads. This ensures a smooth and reliable experience for large organizations or any setup, depending on high-volume, simultaneous data access.

Enhanced Upgrade Tool Reliability

  • Better handling of complex filesystem structures: Supports extremely dense directories for smoother upgrade experiences.
  • Optimized concurrent processing: Refined directory traversal algorithms provide faster processing with improved stability.

Fuse Allow Other (Linux-Only)

We have added a new  FileSystem.FuseAllowOtherLinux configuration setting. This setting allows users on Linux to mount with the allow_other mount option.

  • For more information, please refer to the lucid config CLI command.
  • Note: This configuration setting is Linux-only.

Others changes

  • Group names are now case sensitive (e.g., "Marketing" and "marketing" are now treated as two separate groups), providing greater flexibility in user management.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved a rare issue that could lead to file inconsistencies when multiple clients operated on the same file near midnight.
  • Audit Trail access permissions now update in real-time when a user's role is changed (e.g., from normal user to administrator). An application restart was previously required for the new permissions to apply.
  • [macOS] Fixed a bug where Ctrl-C could not stop the lucid process from the command line in the following scenarios: lucid perf, lucid daemon –no-mount, and lucid daemon (with a password prompt).
