Configuring LucidLink for Windows AEC Workflows
To ensure proper file synchronization and prevent file-locking conflicts when using Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) applications on Windows (such as Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Bentley MicroStation), apply the following two global configuration settings in LucidLink.
Step 1: Set the Windows Mount Point
- Open the LucidLink client and select your target Workspace and Filespace.
- Navigate to Filespace Settings > Global defaults.
- Scroll to Windows mount point and enter your desired UNC path and drive letter.
Example:\\lucidlink\filespace;L:
Step 2: Configure Global File Locking Extensions
In the same Global defaults section, scroll down to File locking extensions and append the extensions required for your specific AEC applications.
Additional AEC Extensions to Add:
- Bluebeam Revu (Studio integration):
revu:pdf - General PDFs (Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat):
pdf - Bentley MicroStation:
dgn
Note: If your workflow uses other Windows software reliant on native file locking, add those application file extensions to this list as well.
Default Supported Applications
LucidLink comes by default with extensions for the following tools in the file locking list, so you do not need to add them manually:
- Autodesk: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit
- Microsoft: Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Adobe: InDesign (Windows & macOS)
