Nutanix Objects

You will require your Objects credentials from your Nutanix environment. These come in the form of an Access Key and Secret Key

 

To generate these, log into your Prism Central and Enable Objects from the Services within the Main Menu. After Objects is enabled, the Object Stores dashboard appears.

 

Within the Objects UI, click on Access Keys and click Add People.

Search for people in Directory Services or Add people not in Active Directory. enter your e-mail address, followed by Next.

Click Download Keys to download a .csv file containing the Access and Secret Keys. Save this file in a safe location, we will require these credentials later.

If you wish to create a bucket manually you can use the Nutanix Object Browser, log in with your Access Key and Secret Key. Select the Red Plus and Create Bucket.

Once you have your Access Key and Secret Key you can create your LucidLink Filespace. Please select the "Nutanix Objects" tile when creating your Filespace.

You will use the public IP Address or URL HTTP or HTTPS endpoint. For example, https://mynutanix:7200 along with your Region us-east-1

Once you select create, your Filespace will be prepared, which will take a minute to complete.

 

When you Filespace is ready for initialization. If you have not done so previously, download and install the LucidLink client. Then follow the steps in the LucidLink web portal to initialize your Filespace.

Initializing your Filespace involves providing the Access Key and Secret Key you downloaded earlier.

You will also be asked for a root account password which is used to encrypt your Filespace to prevent unauthorized data access. For more information on this please review our Initialize your Filespace KB. This can also be achieved via the command line.
