Zadara Storage

  • Updated

You will require storage access in order to create and initialize your Filespace with Zadara Intelligent Object Storage (ZIOS). Access information can be obtained via your management console and the user information section.

Your administrator might have to provide this to you, should you not have management access. Please provide your administrator a link to this FAQ to detail the information required.

Please select your user profile from the top right hand corner and navigate to the highlighted section in the screenshot below for your Public IP, API Endpoint, S3 Access and Secret Keys.

Once you have your Public IP, API Endpoint and S3 Access and Secret Keys you can create your LucidLink Filespace. Please select "Zadara Storage" tile when creating your Filespace, you will use the endpoint of your API Endpoint from your User Information properties.

Along with your Endpoint, you will also require your Region (note: it is case sensitive), you will find you Region within your VPSA System, Settings menu

Please include https:// and your valid endpoint. Your Region is a required field. Select Next. Optionally you can provide your own bucket name, if you do not, we will create a unique bucket based on your Filespace name.

ZS4.jpegYou will note your filespace is being prepared. This will take, up to, a couple of minutes to complete.

Once you are ready to initialize your filespace, follow the steps within the portal to download install your local LucidLink Client and provide your S3 Access and Secret Keys. You will be prompted for a Shared Secret which will AES-256 encrypt your Filespace to prevent unauthorized access to your data. Feel free to reach out to LucidLink Support should you require any further assistance.

You can initialize your filespace manually via the command line. You can use this to change the filespace block size or specify a bucket name. You are required to enter your filespace name, access key, shared secret, as well as provider, and endpoint. For example:

lucid init-s3 --fs <filespace.domain> --password <sharedsecret> --https --endpoint vsa-00000b6-zadarazios.com:443 --region US --access-key <accesskey> --secret-key <secretkey> --provider Zadara
