Introducing the new LucidLink Upgrade Tool, available now for direct customers on contract (users purchasing without a contract or through a reseller will not be eligible for upgrade in this initial phase).
The Upgrade Tool is a streamlined way for LucidLink Classic users to start using their existing filespaces and data with the new LucidLink platform.
All users will be able to see the option to use the tool, but we are introducing eligibility to complete the upgrade process in waves. Your eligibility will depend on your customer segment and other factors such as features in use on your account. We will introduce eligibility for future waves with subsequent releases.
New Features

LucidLink Upgrade Tool: Account owners can now upgrade their LucidLink Classic filespaces to the new LucidLink platform without needing to manually copy data.
- The tool automatically processes and transfers your users, groups, permissions, settings, and billing information for use with the new LucidLink.
- Your data stays in place - only metadata is updated for compatibility with the new LucidLink.
- The upgrade is performed locally (preserving zero knowledge) using the new LucidLink desktop application for macOS, Windows, or Linux.
- The process includes a user-mapping step to associate classic usernames with our new global user model, which is email-based.
Where to find it
You can get started with the Upgrade Tool by selecting “Upgrade from Classic” either from the workspace dashboard (if you have yet to create any workspaces) or from the user menu in the top right corner of the desktop app.
